Cathedral Grove, located in MacMillan Provincial Park, is one of the most accessible stands of giant Douglas fir trees on Vancouver Island.

Here visitors can stroll through a network of trails under the shadow of towering ancient Douglas-fir trees, majestic pillars untouched by the modern world – some more than 800 years old.

Just minutes from our door, you can rent vehicles of all types, to allow you to get out and explore what the region has to offer. A valid drivers license is required of course, and major credit cards are accepted.

Port Alberni is well-known for two nice golf courses, The 9-hole Hollies Executive Golf Course, and the 18-hole Alberni Golf Club have excellent facilities. If you enjoy golfing, you might want to check out one of these two attractions.

Port Alberni offers some of the nicest hikes you might find in or near a city on the west coast of Vancouver Island. From the Hole-in-the-Wall, to Stamp and Della Falls, the outdoors is second nature to Port Alberni.

At Sproat Lake Provincial Park, scope out the Petroyglyphs.  Or head up to the Robertson Creek Fish Hatchery to see fish technicians in action.
